Brilliant bit of kit. The 8 remotes alone have saved me hours on office refits. Being able to map a 24-port patch panel without doing laps of the building is a game changer. Much better value than my old Klein.
Used the cable fault locator feature on my first day to find a break in a Cat6 run that another builder had put a screw through. It told me the break was at 8.5 metres. Measured it out, lifted the floorboard, and there it was. Paid for itself instantly.
Very solid network continuity tester. The tone probe is loud and clear, and the canvas bag keeps everything tidy in the van. Dropped a star because I wish the main unit used a rechargeable lithium battery instead of AAs, but it's a minor gripe.

Great phone cable tester and LAN tracer. The earphone jack on the probe is really useful when working in noisy server rooms. The plastic casing feels a bit light, but it's survived a few drops so far.
I bought this for a home renovation where I was running 30+ Ethernet cables. The wire tracing tool and the 8 IDs made terminating the rack so simple. If you are doing serious DIY networking, don't bother with the £10 cheap testers, get this.
Field Operation Guide
- Continuity Testing: Plug one end of your RJ45 cable into the main unit and the other into a remote. Select 'Wiremap' to instantly check for straight, crossed, or shorted pairs.
- Measuring Length: Plug one end of the cable into the main unit (leave the far end unplugged). Select 'Length' to see the total cable distance or the exact distance to a break.
- Wire Tracing: Connect the main unit to the target cable and select 'Scan'. Use the receiver probe near bundled cables or wall ports; the loudest tone indicates the correct cable.
- Multi-Run Mapping: Insert the 8 remote units into different wall ports. At the patch panel, test each cable to instantly identify which port corresponds to which drop.
